Lu Shuirou

A woman with dark, wavy hair and red lipstick sitting at a wooden table, resting her face in her hands, with a glass of drink in front of her, and a green lamp partially visible in the top left corner.

Born in 1999, Lushuirou graduated in 2021 from Shaanxi University of Science and Technology with a degree in Visual Communication Design. She currently lives and works in Guangzhou.

Since the end of 2019, Lushuirou has been creating independent artworks and sharing them on online platforms, garnering significant attention and reputation online. She excels in capturing the subtle emotional changes of humans with her delicate brushstrokes, skillfully using color and metaphorical compositions to present deeply resonant and emotionally rich images. Her work strongly resonates with the sensitive emotional world of Generation Z, sparking extensive discussions.

The "Relationships" series consists of 30 paper-based watercolor and digital finished works. This year's new creations, the "Stars" series and the "Intimacy" series, mark a shift to fully hand-painted acrylic on wood. This transition signifies Lushuirou's move toward a more mature phase in her artistic creation and practice. Her exploration of different media stems from her curiosity and experimentation, and her works always exhibit a stunningly refined texture after her repeated honing.

Lushuirou has held solo exhibitions at Radius Gallery (Xi'an, 2020) and 11+ Gallery (Johor, Malaysia, 2022). She has also participated in group exhibitions, including the "Boundaries of Blue and Indigo" exhibition at IYN Gallery (Osaka, Japan, 2022).
